Cockle Finance was started by Alfred John Cockle over 50 years ago in Romford. Having seen his Mum lend money to friends and neighbours in London’s East End, before the war, Alf decided to carry this on. Alf’s son Steve grew up seeing his dad run the business and it was a natural progression for him to come into the business and take it to the next level. With his wife Jan, he built the business which expanded into Dagenham, Barking, Harold Hill and Basildon. Now 30 years on, his son Daniel is carrying on the tradition.
